I only found out about this disaster recently when reading a book called The Welsh of Tennessee. A few of the miners who died had their wives and children on their way across the Atlantic to meet up unaware of what had happened. I can't imagine what is was like turning up to be told their men were dead and how these women coped. Thank you for this video.
